Kolkata Knight Riders' South African pace spearhead Morne Morkel on Friday said he was looking forward to creating memories with the Indian Premier League team to get over his World Cup heartbreak.

Talking to media on the eve of Knight's Saturday encounter against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Eden Gardens here, Morkel also expressed his happiness over his sibling Albie Morkel who played a valiant innings for Delhi Daredevils lost cause against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) a day earlier.

“Life goes on. I am playing for Kolkata now I will give all my energy. That is my main focus for the next seven weeks. Can't turn back time, so, for me now, it is important to create memories for this unbelievable team. We have got a trophy to defend and our main focus is to just be a good team,” said the lanky pacer.

A.B. de Villiers-led South Africa were beaten in the semi-finals by New Zealand, who eventually ended up runners-up after losing to Australia in the final.

“Very happy for Albie”

Morkel also expressed his happiness over his brother's performance against the Super Kings.

“(I am) very happy for Albie. After a long injury that was his second or third match back. I am happy that he is doing well for his new team. We are used to seeing him coming at the back end, but batting at number 3 and go all the way almost win the game that's quite a thing,” he said.

Daredevils' Morkel (73 n.o. 8x4, 1x6), fought till the very last ball of the innings with a special knock but failed to literally cross the line in the all-important final delivery of the contest.

Needing six runs of the last ball, Albie's shot was just short of being a six, leading to CSK winning the game by a single run.
