Mitchell Johnson: "England batsmen have it uneasy against my bowling"

Australia v England - Fourth Test: Day 3

The Australian bowler has said that the English batsmen have had it ‘uneasy’ against his bowling in the ongoing Ashes test series in Australia. Mitchell Johnson has been phenomenal in the series and has ripped through the England batting in the Ashes series.

As per Dailymail, The Australian bowler stopped short of calling England ‘scared’ but thought long and hard about the suggestion after a game in which he returned match figures of 8 for 88. Johnson also said: ” I don’t know if it’s a scared thing, but maybe a bit uneasy at times on certain wickets throughout this series, definitely.”

He added: “Look at the WACA, where you had big cracks – it’s fast and bouncy. And obviously the tactics we used in Brisbane were probably a surprise to a lot of them.”

“Being a tailender myself, you never like going in there and facing short balls straight up. It can be intimidating. I don’t know if scared is the right word for it, but it just makes you a little bit uneasy at times I guess.”

In the 4th test of the ongoing Ashes series, Mitchell Johnson was involved in a confrontation with England batsman Kevin Pietersen when Pietersen pulled away at the crease once too often for his liking. Words were exchanged between the two cricketers but the confrontation did not become physical as the confrontation between Johnson and Ben Stokes at Adelaide.

Mitchell Johnson has won 3 man of the match awards in 4 tests. With Australia leading 4-0 in the series, England would try their best to avoid a whitewash in the Ashes series.
