MS Dhoni attends a charity show in Pune for physically and mentally challenged children

MS Dhoni attended a charity show in Pune recently

He might be under the scanner for his and his team’s performance at the recently-concluded ODI series against South Africa, but limited overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, it seems knows how to separate his cricketing life and his personal life very well.

Taking time off from his hectic schedule, the 34-year-old visited a charity show in Pune recently, where he spent more than an hour with physically and mentally challenged children. The Ranchi born-cricketer distributed gifts to the kids at the cultural event which was organised by the Mukul Madhav Foundation and the gesture which was very much appreciated by the gathering present at the venue, IBNlive reports.

The cricketer was seen clicking photographs with the children, who also participated in a song and dance programme, along with singing the national anthem.

Industrialist Prakash Chharbia, who manages the trust, informed the crowd that the money raised on the occasion would be used to give medical and educational help to the weaker sections of society.

Dhoni hasn't had the best of times as captains in limited over cricket, in recent time, having lost an ODI series to Bangladesh in June and then finishing second best in both the T20 and the ODI series earlier this month.

But he, clearly, seemed to have kept the negative results aside and instead, made the day for many children who were present at the occasion. Dhoni’s next assignment will be in January when he would lead the side on 20-day tour to Australia, involving 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is
