After losing the Final of World T20, all the cricket crazy fans were looking towards MS Dhoni’’s assessment for this defeat.

Analysing the factual position, MS Dhoni said: “In the middle overs, our batsmen tried their best to get going, but we couldn’t convert the good start. Virat was the only one who could score but it was a little difficult for him also initially. We could have always got those 10-15 runs, but cricket is always about those extra runs.”

One of the reasons for this defeat was that Indian batsmen could score only 19 runs in the last 4 over which proved fatal. Dhoni praised Sri Lankan bowlers, especially Malinga as they were able to stop Indian batsmen effectively.

He expressed his views by saying, “The last four overs they executed their plans brilliantly and for our side that doesn`t play scoops well, that worked for them. (Lasith) Malinga with that slingy action, side-on it gets difficult for the batsmen, he kept bowling it wide. He bowled the yorkers well. It was a perfect game for them.”

However, despite losing this golden opportunity of becoming the first captain to hold all the three prominent limited overs titles at once, captain Dhoni has displayed his wisdom and sensibility especially underlining the splendid performance of Virat Kohli.

He said: “Virat has been brilliant in the last few years. He is someone who makes most of the opportunity. The good thing is that he plays authentic shots and still scores runs. He is got a bright future ahead of them.”

Let us hope that Team India under the dynamic leadership of MSD will make a comeback in the upcoming away tours.
