Former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman and current coach, Moin Khan has urged Pakistan to take the right steps like India. Moin Khan was appointed the head coach after Dav Whatmore’s contract expired in February this year.

Citing the example of the hugely popular Indian Premier League, Moin Khan said Pakistan needed to follow the example of India and take the required decisions.

“The Indian players are groomed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) the competition is extremely tough there now, the players who get through this system and make it to the top are quality players and have the ability of sustaining pressure at the highest level,” Moin was quoted by the Express Tribune.

He said that to beat India, Pakistan needs to set up such a system in place which is producing quality cricketers in India.

“We need to understand and accept the facts, this is the first step in the right direction, if we are honest and work with the vision then only can we overcome India at the big stage [ICC world events]“

Pakistan defeated India in the Asia Cup this year, but failed to break the losing streak in ICC world events, when it lost to India in World T20 in Bangladesh.

Pakistan Cricket Board is already contemplating establishing a domestic T20 league on the lines of IPL.
