Players who represented the country after playing U19 World Cup

India clinched the under19 Cricket World Cup at Townsville beating Australia by 6 wickets. Unumukt Chand, Indian skipper, rose to the occasion scoring a timely 111. He looked in control of the situation and never panicked even once when Australian bowlers triggered a mini-collapse in the middle of the innings.

Harmeet Singh’s bowling action and the manner in which he tossed the ball was reminiscent of Bishen Singh Bedi- a champion left arm spin bowler of yesteryears. It is very rare to see the spinner having the gumption to flight the ball even in the end overs of ODI. Harmeet’s skills as a bowler impressed Ian Chappell, who feels the left arm spinner is ready for the big league. He said that Indian captain-Chand and Harmeet are ready for the big league. Bedi also was impressed with Harmeet’s temperament and expected the lad to play more first class cricket.
