Quinton de Kock became the fastest wicket-keeper to effect 50 dismissals in ODI cricket

South African wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock became the fastest to 50 dismissals in ODI cricket when he reached the milestone in just his 27^th ODI, during the 1^st match between South Africa and New Zealand yesterday.

21-year-old de Kock beat the trio of Ridley Jacobs (WI), Geraint Jones (ENG) and Jos Buttler (ENG), who all achieved the feat in 30 ODIs.

de Kock also equalled the record of most fielding dismissals effected by a wicket-keeper in ODIs – 6 – when he took 5 catches and stumped one batsman in the match. He is the ninth wicket-keeper, and second South African to do so.

The feat however has been achieved a total of 14 times, with Australian Adam Gilchrist leading the way with six instances.
