Rahul Dravid included in syllabus for school children

Indian legend Rahul Dravid has achieved yet another landmark. The former Indian batsman has been made a part of history, by being included in Kannada textbooks for class X. Not just that, an entire chapter has been dedicated to him.

The textbook's second chapter speaks about Dravid's on-field achievements as well as his impressive personality off the field. Dravid has been one of the most respected cricketers in the world and his Test record is among the very best. He scored 13,000 runs in the 164 Tests and 11,000 runs in the 344 ODIs for India.

Speaking on this feat, his mother said: “It feels very nice. If students can learn from his life, that would be wonderful. I am not saying this because he is my son, but because there is so much to learn from him. He has a lot of patience, he respects his elders a lot and gets along with his colleagues.He was good at studies. He had written his second semester MBA exam when he got selected to play for India. Once he decides to achieve something, he will not rest until he succeeds.”

His fans would say that this is a befitting tribute to a true gentleman of the game.
