Indian batting legend and current coach of the India Under-19 and India A side, Rahul Dravid, has never been one to hog the limelight, off the field that is, and not surprisingly, rarely makes his presence felt on social media. But after a special message from Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli a couple of days ago in which the 27-year-old shared a picture of himself taken along with Dravid almost 10 years ago, Dravid chose to use his official Facebook page to deliver a special message for Kohli.
Always known as a true gentleman of the game, Dravid responded in his own humble manner praising Kohli for his fantastic career so far and urged the right-handed batsman to keep going. He even quipped that Kohli’s pose in the picture he posted was reminiscent of the Delhi cricketer’s character as he continues to achieve his dream of becoming the best cricketer in the world.
Dravid reshared Kohli’s original post on Facebook in which the latter had conveyed that it was a dream-come-true for him to see himself grow from being a young cricketer hoping to be in the same side as Dravid to then go on to establish himself as a vital member of the side and eventually as skipper of the Test side.
"Moments like these make you feel grateful for where you are. Once I was trying to make eye contact with this legend and then I was interviewed by him while playing Test cricket for India. I guess dreams do come true #Grateful."
Dravid, who has exhibited his dry humour many a time during his stint in the commentary box was at his cheeky best yet again by remarking that perhaps Kohli was not just trying to make eye-contact but rather giving him a message that he would go on to equal and perhaps even better the outstanding career that he has managed for India. Dravid acknowledges that Kohli has made a remarkable start to his international career and urged him to keep going with the same attitude and aggression to fulfil his huge potential.
