Indian middle order batsman Suresh Raina has dismissed Lalit Modi’s corruption allegations, reports ESPNcricinfo. He has released a statement via his management team Rhiti Sports in which he has also mentioned that he is considering taking legal action.

"In the wake of recent media reports about me, I would like to make my fans around the world aware and clear the air that I have always played the game in right spirit and with utmost integrity," the statement said. "I have never been involved in any wrongdoing and all allegations against me are false. Playing cricket is my passion for whichever team I have represented. I'm also figuring out my legal rights to take the right steps ahead in this matter."

Modi, earlier named Raina, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo (all three play for the Chennai Super Kings) in a letter to the ICC Chairman alleging that the trio had received cash and houses from a businessman involved in real estate back in 2013. Modi also stated that the businessman was a bookie. Later, the ICC also revealed that it had acted on the former IPL commissioner's letter by sharing the information with the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit.

And then, the BCCI revealed that it had given the players a clean chit since it had not received any more information from the ICC. "The follow-up is there is nothing in that," BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur said at a press conference. "If they had found something, they would have reported it back to us. If there is nothing from the ICC on it, it has to be a clean chit."
