Ranji Trophy Round 7, Day 1 Roundup: Sent back to play Ranji, Umesh responds with a hat-trick

Fast bowler, Umesh Yadav was not picked for the second Test against South Africa and was sent back to play in the Ranji Trophy. He replied in the best manner by taking a hat-trick and dismantling the opposition (Rajasthan) in Nagpur.

The Vidarbha bowler finished with the figures of 4-45 as Rajasthan were bowled out for 216. Pramod Yadav was the top-scorer for the visitors with 67 runs.

Assam's bowling performance against Group ‘A’ table toppers Delhi was commendable today as they bowled them out for 149 runs. Manan Sharma was the top-scorer for the Visitors in Guwahati with his unbeaten 46 runs knock.

The two Das - Krishna and Arup - picked up four and three wickets respectively for Assam. The home team had a shaky start and they now trail Delhi by 80 runs with 7 more wickets left.
