Former legendary Australian wicket-keeping batsman Adam Gilchrist has hailed Indian offs-pinner Ravichandran Ashwin‘s ‘carrom ball’ delivery, which dismissed veteran South African Hashim Amla in the World Twenty20 semi-final match between India and South Africa on Friday, as the ‘T20 ball of the century’.
A majestic delivery, in which the ball pitched outside the leg stump and turned the wrong way before hitting the top of AMla’s off-stump. Gilchrist was quick to tweet about the brilliance of the delivery.
India went on to win the match by 6 wickets with a brilliant knock of 72 not out by Virat Kohli as they strolled to the finals with five balls to spare.
