Ravichandran Ashwin destroys Sri Lankan fan on Twitter

Ravi Ashwin’s wit has landed on yet another prey on the social media

Ravichandran Ashwin’s activities on Twitter have burnt many an unaware fan, and the latest victim of his acerbic wit was a Sri Lankan fan. The fan was letting know his dislike towards the Indian team, and saying that Ashwin would be blown away by the ‘Gaylestorm’ on Thursday, till Ashwin blew him away with some sharp comments.

This fan had tweeted during India’s close win against Australia that he would give up watching cricket if India won. India did manage to win, on the back of a superhuman show from Virat Kohli, but the fan had not stopped watching cricket as he had promised.

The fan should have learnt his lesson by now and stopped trying to rile Ashwin, but that was not to be. He offered his prediction for Thursday’s semi final as well, saying that Ashwin could have a laugh now, but that laugh would be wiped off by Chris Gayle’s hitting.

Ashwin pointed out that the fan had not stopped watching cricket, and so was not a man of his words. The fan had a chance to retreat at this opportunity as well, but some people like to harp on the same point.

When he said he had stopped but that he would watch the India-West Indies match just to see the expression on Indian faces when they exit, Ashwin gave him a burn he is likely not to forget in a while – ‘Let the Dog catching vehicle come, I will catch you and hand you over to them. Whatever happens tomorrow, I wont bother about it. You should have stopped watching.’ (translated from Tamil)
