Sydney, Dec 7 (IANS) Australian all-rounder Shane Watson on Sunday said the team would not be shying away from being aggressive and would look to inflicting "pain" on the visiting Indian team when they meet in the first cricket Test at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

Watson believed that the Aussies have performed at their best whenever they have been "aggressive" and it was time to give the Indians a taste of their own medicine as the last time when Australia toured India they failed miserably losing 0-4. With the change of backyard, Watson hoped for a change in the fortunes.

"We know what we have to do to do well against the Indians. They hammered us in their conditions so we have a lot to give back to them in our conditions. They let us know when they were on top last year. We need to make sure we start off well in that series and stay strong to make sure they feel a similar pain as we did over in India," Watson was quoted as saying by the Daily Telegraph.

"We've played our best cricket when we are aggressive, ever since I've been involved with the Australian cricket team, that's not going to change because that's when we're at our absolute best," he added.

The all-rounder also said that there were thoughts that rushed to his mind when he first, went out to bat in the nets, after the funeral of Phillip Hughes. He also witnessed the horrifying incident at the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 25.

"The first couple of sessions were tough, especially the first one was really tough. A few things flooded into my head as soon as I went out to bat. I'm getting there. Physically, I feel ready to go," said Watson.
