Recuperated Jesse Ryder to return to cricket after a harrowing year

New Zealand batsman Jesse Ryder will return to first class cricket after a year to forget. He was banned for six months due to a doping ban and also came back from an assault in Christchurch that had put him in comma with head injuries.

He will be playing for his new first class side Otago next week against his former side Wellington.

Ryder spent almost a week in hospital in march following the incident which happened outside a bar in Christchurch, due to which he suffered a fractured skull and rib injuries.
