India cricketer Robin Uthappa got married to former tennis player Sheethal Goutham in a private Christian ceremony in Bengaluru on Thursday night. The event was graced by fellow cricketers Irfan Pathan, E.A.S. Prasanna, Brijesh Patel, Roger Binny, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, some of Uthappa's Karnataka teammates, and R.P. Singh.
Uthappa and Goutham are long time partners, and got engaged last November. The former tennis player is thought to be one of the main reasons for Uthappa’s return to form during IPL 7, after which the out-of-favour cricketer got a recall to the India team for the Bangladesh tour.
Pathan had the honour of being one of four best men at the ceremony. After the wedding, the bride and groom changed into Indian attire for the private reception which followed.
Dhawal Kulkarni gets married in Mumbai
Elsewhere on Thursday, Dhawal Kulkarni tied the nuptial knot with fashion co-ordinator Shradha Kharpude in a Maharashtrian wedding ceremony as well. The couple, who had been introduced to each other through common friends four years ago, were in traditional attire for the ceremony.
Rohit Sharma tweeted his congratulations from the sidelines of the Asia Cup, but the Mumbai ceremony was mostly attended by relatives and friends.
