Sachin in, Sehwag out of Team India

After much speculation, the national selectors have opted to give master blaster Sachin Tendulkar another chance to score that elusive 100th century in the upcoming Asia Cup series in Bangladesh. The selectors have decided to keep Sachin in the team. However, out of form star batsman Virender Sehwag has been dropped. Apart from a poor run in Tests and having scored just 35 runs in his last four ODI outings prior to the win on Tuesday, Sehwag has also been at the center of an unsavory ego clash with skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Though the Board wanted to rest Sachin for the series in the sub continent, it has been reported that the national selectors were against the decision. It was also learnt that the selectors who met at Mumbai on Wednesday wanted to keep the ‘attitude of players’ in mind while picking the team.

Ashok Dinda and Yusuf Pathan have made a comeback to the side while the selectors decided to rest Umesh Yadav and Zaheer Khan.

Team India for Asia Cup:

MS Dhoni (captain), Virat Kohli (vice-captain), Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Manoj Tiwari, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Ashok Dinda.
