Also, the uncertainty whether Sachin Tendulkar will be able to find form again, will not be there. Overall, the unique bond that he had generated with the last three generations, is sadly going to fade away. For the common man, Sachin was cricket.

This is really fascinating. The latest advertisement shown by Star Sports says that we are thankful for all the great joy which he has given – and how apt it is! The ad campaign depicts thanks giving by various sections of people across society. It really shows how much Sachin means to the average Indian.

Anyone will become jealous of the unparalleled coverage which the master blaster is getting all over the globe. I still remember an incident which defines our obsession with Sachin – when I visited a relative admitted in ICU for the treatment of stroke – he asked me as to what had happened to the batting of Sachin! Indians have an amazing commitment for this cricketer, which no other player can even dream about!

You will hardly find examples of consistently fit test cricketers. When it comes to performing at the highest level for a long time, maintaining your fitness is the key. Sachin Tendulkar has been one such player for India. To do it at the highest level for so long without being injured too much, it takes a lot of input. It will be very hard to replace such a consistent performer in the middle order. He held so many innings together. You can never underestimate his contributions, be it Test cricket or ODIs. He always played a key role in ensuring that India got off to a great start in ODIs.

Indian cricket will perhaps never ever see another player who makes such a deep impact. Also, being the gentleman he was, it is a major loss for India as a sporting nation. He has been a true role model – one who inspired many youngsters to take up the game – including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Hence, he has also contributed indirectly in the growth of Indian cricket.

The game of cricket has given many legends such as Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and the great wall Rahul Dravid to name a few – but the popularity Sachin has accumulated over the years is simply not comparable with any other cricketer. Period.

Right from the management, the coach, fellow team members to the ordinary fans – everyone trusted that India’s position was safe as far as the little champ was present on the crease. Not only would he put in all out efforts to bail out his team, but his valuable advice to others also had a magical impact. Many a times, with inspiration from him, the batsman at the other end used to give him the strike. This would ensure that Sachin would finish the rest of the task smoothly.

Also, his selfless game play has distinctively stood him apart from rest of the crowd. There is only one Sachin and there won’t be another one like him! He was like a family member for all Indians. Hats off to his divine journey! We have simply been lucky to get a chance to worship the god of cricket!
