“This is a great initiative from Adidas to support the future of this sport, which encourages aspiring athletes to follow their passion and be part of an extraordinary league. Mentoring these talented young cricketers will let me be close to what I love and give back to the sport,” Tendulkar, who retired from international cricket last year, said at the event.

Unmukt Chand has already been a world cup winning captain with the India U-19 team. Parvez Rosool was a part of the Indian squad which toured Zimbabwe in 2013. Vijay Zol, Baba Aparajith and Manan Vohra have been putting up impressive performances in the Ranji Trophy.

With the legend himself observing these players from close quarters and giving them some invaluable insights about the game, the youngsters will be hoping to make the most of it and break through into the Indian senior team in the near future.
