Bhuvneshwar Kumar becomes 13th Indian bowler to get his name on Lord's honours board

Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended with figures of 13-10-82-6

Cricketers not just from England but from across the world consider playing at Lord’s, the Home of Cricket, as a great achievement. Getting your name on the Lord’s Honours Board by scoring a hundred or taking a 5-wicket haul in a Test match is, without doubt, an even greater accomplishment.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar got his name today on the board when he bowled Ben Stokes on Day 3 of the 2nd Test between India and England. The right-arm pacer had bowled brilliantly yesterday, picking 4 English wickets. Today, he got 2 wickets in 3 deliveires, with Stuart Broad becoming his 2nd victim of the day.

Kumar is the 13th Indian bowler, and also the 3rd from the state of Uttar Pradesh to get his name on the Lord’s honours board. RP Singh in 2007 and Praveen Kumar in 2011 had achieved the feat earlier. Interestingly, Bhuvneshwar has credit Praveen Kumar’s role in his success in England.

Bhuvneshwar’s 6 wickets for 82 runs are also the 2nd best bowler figures by an Indian bowler at Lord’s. Pacer Amar Singh’s 6/35, way back in 1936, remains the best performance at Lord’s by an Indian bowler.

Here are the bowlers who’ve taken 5-wicket-hauls at Lord’s:
