West Indies suffered a humiliating 186-run loss in Kingston yesterday, but No. 11 Shane Shillingford managed to make the most out of the opportunity as he free stroked his way to teh 2nd fastest half-century in Test cricket, in terms of number of balls faced.

Chasing 403, West Indies lost their 9th wicket in the 2nd innings at just 134. Shillingford, in company of Sulieman Benn, used the long handle to good effect, bringing up his half century in just 25 balls. His partnership of 82 runs for the 10th wicket only delayed the inevitable as New Zealand dismissed Benn in the last over of the day to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

The off-spinner, who claimed 5/184 in the match, hit 5 sixes and 3 fours in his innings.
