Stats: Most runs in a year in IPL

Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Chris Gayle holds the record for the most runs in a year in IPL with 733 runs from his 14 innings, a record he created in the year 2012. Gayle averaged over 61 in 2012 with a highest score of 128 not out.

Michael Hussey of Chennai Super Kings also scored 733 runs in 2013 but took 17 innings to do so. Hussey’s average in 2013 was 52.35 with 95 as his highest score.
