1994- The last time a Kiwi batsman, before Williamson, scored a century in the 4th innings of a Test match in a winning cause. Last time, Bryan Young (120) and Shane Thompson (120*), both had scored centuries in 4th innings of the third Test match of the series against Pakistan in February 1994. The Kiwis chased down 324 against the bowling attack which comprised of Wasim and Waqar. Pakistan won that series 2-1.

5- Number of players to score a century in the 4th innings of a Test match this year. Kane Willamson is the 5th man and the 1st New Zealander to do so. Interestingly, 3 such centuries have come against Sri Lanka and one by a Sri Lankan batsman. Also the number of 4th innings centuries by any batsman before Williamson at Hamilton.
