Stats: Cricketers who have been involved most times in 300+ ODI totals

Sachin Tendulkar leads the list of players most involved in 300+ ODI totals

There has been a drastic transformation in the way that ODI cricket is played over the last few years. When ODIs first began in 1970s, a scoring rate of 4 runs an over was considered extremely competitive, and seldom did a team that made close to 240 from 60 overs, as it was then, go on lose the match.

But with the introduction of bigger and better quality bats, and not to forget the fact that boundary ropes are being pulled in, we have seen a gradual increase in scoring rates.

Even so, a score of 300 or more was considered an exceptional feat even a decade ago, as it was achieved so rarely. But that is no more the case and a score of 300 from 50 overs in modern-day cricket has become so commonplace that teams given the task of chasing a score above 300 just do not fret at the enormity of the task anymore.

Since 2006, there have been 4 occasions when a team has successfully chased down a total above 350, let alone 300. While the introduction of T20 cricket has, to a large extent, helped in giving players belief that they can chase down any total, the extraordinary skill that contemporary batsmen exhibit should not be undervalued.

Here are the top ten players most involved in 300+ ODI totals:
