Tharanga involved in most 200 run partnerships for any wicket

Upul Tharanga is now on level with Ricky Ponting for being involved in most 200-run partnerships for any wicket in ODI’s. Interestingly, in case of Upul Tharanga, all these partnerships have come as first-wicket stands.

Sri Lanka have won all seven of them in which the opener has had a fruitful partnership, in this case, a massive 200-run stand.

Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar are joint second having been involved in six of them. While Rahul Dravid, Sanath Jayasuriya and Virender Sehwag are in third position with five such partnerships.
