Ted Hussey – father of Australian cricketers Michael and David Hussey – passed away on Saturday, aged 73. Ted has served as a Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) board member, as an administrator of the Western Australian District Cricket Competition and of the Wanneroo District Cricket Club.

"Ted's character was such that he will be sadly missed by all within the WA cricket community," WACA CEO Christina Matthews said. "On a personal level, Ted was a great help to me when I arrived in WA, providing me with an invaluable insight of the history of District Cricket, which assisted enormously in understanding the challenges cricket faced.

He said: "I'm sure I speak for the WA cricket community as a whole when I say our thoughts and hearts go out to Ted's family."

Ted is survived by his two sons, daughters Gemma and Kate, and his wife Helen.
