Tendulkar may play his final domestic match in Haryana

Sachin Tendulkar is all set to is all set to play the final domestic match of his career when he travels to Haryana with the Mumbai team to play in the Ranji Trophy in Lahli from October 27-30. This comes before he plays his final set of Test matches, ESPNcricinfo reports.

Mumbai Cricket Association joint secretary Nitin Dalal told ESPNcricinfo that Tendulkar has “has made himself available” for the match. Ex-India opening batsman Sudhir Naik, will name the Mumbai squad that will battle for the Ranji Cup.

Tendulkar will make his final appearance in an India jersey when he plays his 199th and 200th Test matches which is set to commence on November 6. The legendary cricketer decided to call time on his illustrious career after he participates in the West Indies Test series. His appearance in domestic cricket could also be his last.

The 40-year-old has played 37 Ranji Trophy games since bursting onto the scene in the match against Gujarat on December 10, 1988. Tendulkar expressed his desire to be a part of the Mumbai team more regularly but his choc-a-block international commitments saw his dream go unfulfilled. After quitting the international scene, Tendulkar managed to hit two centuries along with a fifty in just five innings in the four matches he played for Mumbai in the Ranji trophy last season. The last time Sachin played more than three Ranji matches was in 1994-1995.
