Regarded as one of the greatest entertainers of all time Virender Sehwag was a nightmare to bowlers in each and every format of the game. His mantra was “see the ball and hit the ball”. It was his terrific hand-eye coordination that enabled him to score his runs at a brisk pace even in Test cricket. He redefined batting top of the order in Test cricket and his daredevil attitude set him apart from the rest.
Sehwag was the first player to get to a triple century with a six. If the ball was in his zone he would go hard irrespective of his personal score or the situation of the match. In the 2003-04 Test series in Australia Viru went for a slog batting on 195 and lost his wicket. In the last few years of his international career, the performances dipped and was eventually dropped from the Indian side. He played his last Test and ODI in the year 2013.
