Indian team cheered for South Africa’s Springbok

South Africa’s one-day international captain AB de Villiers has made a short video featuring India’s captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Team Director Ravi Shastri, all cheering for his country’s rugby team – Springboks. The first match between India and South Africa got over two days back, but the fun continued in Dharamshala.

All the cricketers were seen saying “Bokke” in the video which was tweeted by De Villiers. It was a special message from the cricket’s most loved person to the South African rugby team which is also nicknamed as Bokke.

The players were waiting on Saturday at the Dharamshala airport when De Villiers started recording a video asking everyone to say “Bokke” and cheer. First, he started with his teammates – Kagiso Rabada, Quinton de Kock and Albie Morkel. Then came Dhoni and De Villiers said, “Come on MS (Dhoni)”, to which the Indian captain shouted “Bokke.”

Shastri and Kohli followed in the same vein and showed their support for the rugby team. The South African right-handed batsman concluded the message by saying, "To the Boks, all the best boys."

Currently, the Bokke are playing in the ongoing Rugby World Cup being organized in England. Earlier today, they defeated Scotland by 34-16 in a Pool B match at the St James Park in Newcastle.

The visitors are scheduled to play three Twenty20 internationals, five ODIs and four Test matches during their 72-day tour of India. After the first T20’s result going in South Africa’s bag, now both the teams move to Cuttack where they’ll face off in the second match.
