Video: Woman takes graceful fall during Ashes Test, Joe Root and David Warner share laugh

A TV grab of the woman and the reactions of Joe Root and David Warner

For many at the Lord’s on Day 3 of the 2nd Ashes Test, the highlight of the day was not how Australia dominated the hosts – making them face 2 long days of trying to save the match – but the moment when a woman was seen in the audience taking a rather graceful fall, true to the spirit of the historic series she had come to be a part of.

Joe Root and David Warner, the last two people one would expect to share a laugh over anything, did exactly that after seeing footage of the great fall.

That was not where the drama ended, however. The moment was followed by a revelation from the commentary box – that commentator Shane Warne actually knew the woman and that he had placed a phone call to her enquiring of her well-being.

Warne informed the TV audience that the woman was called Ally.
