In the third and final match of the ongoing Test series against West Indies, at Cape Town, South African fast bowler Dale Steyn bowled possibly the worst ball that he has ever bowled in his cricket career. We have seen the likes of Steve Harmison and Morne Morkel do it before, but not Steyn. Not quite like this!
Opting to bat first, the visitors ended Day 1 on 276/6 with Jermaine Blackwood (45* off 102) and Jason Holder (5* off 14) at the crease. Leon Johnson and Denesh Ramdin scored half-centuries, while Devon Smith and Marlon Samuels registered 47 and 43 respectively. None of them could go on and make it big, though.
Debutant spinner Simon Harmer picked up 3 wickets, while Steyn had 2 to his name. South Africa lead the series 1-0.
