Cricket is pretty much a religion in India with the game being played in every nook and corner of the country and the country’s cricket matches followed like a frenzy by the supporters who numbers in the millions. Cricket unites the nation like no other medium can but the case of India’s Test skipper Virat Kohli is not so clear cut.

Kohli is on a high after guiding India to its first overseas victory in over four years by defeating Sri Lanka 2-1 in the three-match Test series in their own backyard. The victory also marked India’s first series win in the island nation since 1993 and was also Kohli’s first wins at Test skipper.

But for all of Kohli’s outstanding achievement’s with the bat so far, the 26-year-old has divided opinions within the cricket world with plenty of them rooting for the 26-year-old while there are many who feel the Delhi lad is too aggressive. Kohli as such is never away from the news and not surprisingly crossed the 8-million followers mark on Twitter, which is even more than that of Sachin Tendulkar.

Kohli created headlines before the Sri Lankan tour when he turned out for the India A side in a four-day Test against the visiting Australia A side. Upon his return to his hometown New Delhi from Sri Lanka, Kohli went one better by indulging in gully cricket with a few eager fans. Dressed casually in a T-shirt and jeans, Kohli enjoyed a brief session with the cricket enthusiasts and shared the experience on his official Facebook account.
