VVS Laxman believes day and night matches will revolutionize Test cricket

Laxman is optimist about the good change in Test cricket

Days after Indian Test Match captain, Virat Kohli came out in support of day-night Tests, Indian Test stalwarts VVS Laxman and Kapil Dev have expressed delight on the eve of the commencement of first day/night Test cricket match to be played in Adelaide Oval between Trans-Tasmanian rivals Australia and New Zealand.

Laxman, who has played a total of 134 Tests for India scoring 8781 runs believes that the day/night test matches are a boon for the fans who generally miss the entire day’s play due to school or work.

“This is an exciting time for the cricketing fans as they can directly head to the stadiums or tune in on their TV sets to catch the action live. Historically it has been proven time and again that a little modification in the way the game has been played traditionally has been successful.

This is a revolution in the Test cricket format and I believe this is just the beginning of a new era for Test cricket.” Said, VVS Laxman who is a part of the Star Sports commentary panel of the Commonwealth Bank Test Series 2015.

Laxman, who particularly had a good record against the Australians has joined the elite group of cricketing heroes who have given their vote of confidence for the day/night cricket to be successful.

Kapil Dev who captained India for its first ICC Cricket World Cup glory sees this development as a positive move.

“I am very happy to see the plans to play a day/night test coming into action. I would personally like to welcome this move as I see a lot of positives from it. If this format clicks, we are in for another revolution in the test cricket history.” Said, Kapil Dev who is a part of the Star Sports commentary panel of the Commonwealth Bank Test Series 2015.

Star Sports will telecast the first ever day/night cricket match live on Star Sports 2, Star Sports HD 2 and hotstar. The match will start at 9 AM IST from Friday, November 27, 2015.
