West Indies need 224 with nine wickets to level the series 1-1

The fourth day of the second Test match between Sri Lanka and West Indies was washed out because of persistent showers at the P Sara Oval in Colombo on Sunday. The ground remained covered with the city receiving heavy overnight rain and more showers during the day.

West Indies will resume their second innings on 20 for one on the final day and need another 224 runs to win and level the series by 1-1. Opener Shai Hope (17) was unbeaten overnight after Kraigg Brathwaite (3) fell lbw to paceman Dhammika Prasad on the final delivery of the second session on Day two before rain washed out the entire final session.

After a couple of field inspections, the umpires (Rod Tucker and Simon Fry) decided to call off fourth day play without a ball being bowl.
