Yuvraj Singh responds after his father blames MS Dhoni for World Cup omission

Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh believes that Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was behind the omission of his son from India’s 15-man squad for the World Cup which is currently being played in Australia and New Zealand. The 33-year-old wasn't part of the 30-man preliminary squad that was announced for the mega event in December and didn’t find his name in the final 15 for the quadrennial event, despite putting in commendable performances in the lead up to the day of selection.

“If MS Dhoni is having personal issues with my son, I won't do anything, God will do justice. Pray India wins World Cup under your captaincy (MS Dhoni) but nothing can be more sad that you behaved this way," Yograj said.

I am on good terms with Dhoni: Yuvraj

Yuvraj, however, clarified his father’s comments on his Twitter account, saying that he had got a bit carried away and assured that he shared good relations with the 2011 World Cup-winning captain.

Yuvraj, who was the Man of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup, was purchased by Delhi Daredevils (DD) for a whopping Rs 16 crore in the IPL auction today.
