Indian Open snooker qualifying from ninth September

A total of 82 cueists will be participating in the fourth qualifying round of the Indian Open snooker at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) billiards hall here Sep 9-13.

Siddharth Parikh, Himanshu Jain, Hasan Badami, Hitesh Kotwani, Prashant Mhatre, Rovin D'Souza, Ishpreet Singh Chadha and Mahesh Jagdale are some of the players from Mumbai who will be seen in action in the tournament.

The outstation challenge will come from Vipin Premi and Akshay Kumar (both Uttar Pradesh), Md. Shoaib Khan and Manish Jain (both West Bengal), Dhavaj Haria (Gujarat), Shabaaz Khan (Kolkata), Nitesh Madaan, Chetan Chhabra and Suyash Moorpana (Delhi) and S. Magesh (Tamil Nadu).

Four players from this round and 12 others from the other three qualifying rounds held in Delhi, Chennai and Indore will join the top eight national ranked players (based on the 2014 National Championship) for the final qualifying tournament to be played at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Pune, Sep 15-18.

The 24 players will be fighting it out for the six wildcard entries from India which would give them the opportunity to pit their skills against the best in the world during the Indian Open to be held at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, Oct 13-17.
