Do you like the heat? Do you want to sweat it out? Well, that’s exactly what Bass Karan did in the road beasts 1000 km brevet!

Cycling was considered a fitness activity in India until teams started to invest in riders who wore fancy clothes bearing their team names and shelled out some time to train under the sun. This here is an interesting story of a physical trainer from Cumbum, a small village near Theni. Bass Karan never knew about randonneuring, and he just tried his luck at one of the events. Well, guess what? His first event was the 1000 k straight away! That is the big ticket to the Paris-Brest-Paris 1200 km ride in 2015. Not only did he ride, he qualified as well, finishing the ride with 11 hours and 30 minutes to spare. It was history!

He still has to conquer the super randonneuring title, which he hopes to eventually attain. But whether he does that or not, he has definitely made the cycling community in Chennai proud.
