Destiny: Post apocalyptic game due to be released on September 9,2014

A still from the upcoming game Destiny

From the creators of multi-billion dollar conception Halo, Bungie developers are set to uncover their upcoming mythic science fiction called Destiny.

The multi player first person shooter will be massive in terms of on line features and will be role playing in nature. It will be published by Activision as a part of their 10 year deal and will release on 9th September,2014.

The setting is in a post apocalyptic ‘Golden Age’ seven hundred years into the future. The plot revolves around the concept of ‘The Traveller’ who is responsible for the scattered colonization of humans throughout the Solar system. But after”the Collapse” occurred, mankind faces the threat of extinction as the ruins of their races lie buried in the dunes of Mars, hidden in the jungles of Venus, lost in a wild and abandoned Earth.

The presence allows the “Guardians of the City”—the last defenders of the human race—the ability to wield an unknown power. Under the guidance of the Traveller, the player takes on the role of a Guardian of the City with the objective to defend the last safe city on Earth from hostile alien threats who have taken over their former territories and explore the ancient ruins of the Solar system in a hope to reconstruct the civilization of mankind once again.

The game will incorporate the MMO (Massively Multi player On line) features but Destiny’s game play will not be a typical MMO as suggested by Bungie. The set up will be more of a shared world shooter. A new game engine that allows global illuminations and real-time dynamic lighting to occur together will be implemented. In both cooperative and competitive multi player modes, an innovated version of the “hopper” technology will orchestrate a better player matchmaking in order to create a more natural experience.

The game will be released released on PS3,PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on September 9, 2014. News about its PC release is still not yet confirmed.

An official trailer was released in youtube on June 10,2013. The game is available for pre order on its official site.
