Need for Speed Rivals- A sign of next generation gaming?

Electronic Arts has shocked the world with it’s latest game in the market- Need For Speed Rivals. The game which was developed by Swedish and British developers, Ghost Games and developer Criterion Games was released in November 2013.

NFS Rivals is the twentieth installment of the long running Need For Speed series. The game has been made available for PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and also the recently released Playstation 4. The game is first of it’s kind to feature open world environment. Rivals features a dynamic weather system, which makes ‘ the world feel alive in a much bigger sense than any other NFS game’. The game also includes automobile giants, Ferrari in it for the first time in eleven years.

The gameplay of NFS Rivals is compared to that of NFS’s previous game Hot Pursuit. The players can take the role of a cop or a racer with each campaign offering it’s own challenges and tasks for the player. Rivals also features eleven upgrade-able gadgets such as EMP’s , shockwaves and ability to call in roadblocks.

The game includes an open world of over 100 miles larger than Most Wanted which was released in 2012.

With it’s impressive visuals and open world enhancement, NFS Rivals also boasts of an exciting mix of pure driving and aggressive maneuvering of the vehicle. The seamless integration of single and multiplayer brings world to life.
