Even though Alonso is contracted to Ferrari until 2016, we understand that one of the break clauses leave him free to join another team next season. With Alonso ruling out a move to a Mercedes powered team, the Spaniard is left with just two sensible option - stay at Ferrari or a move to McLaren-Honda.I don’t think so,” Alonso told NBC Sports when asked whether he’d be driving a Mercedes powered car in 2015. “The options are quite clear. “As I said in Suzuka, when you know the options, you will say ‘it was so obvious’. Wait and see.” The double World champion reiterated that he’s already decided on his future and that once all the formalities are complete, an announcement shall follow.“My future is already set – or already set in my mind for some months. Now we are finalising everything, it is not a big thing,” Alonso told Britain’s Sky TV.“You need to be patient, you need to wait a little bit. I cannot say anything until everything is completely done but it’s good and I will do the best for my future and the best for the future of Ferrari because it is the team that I love. When you know it you will say ‘it was so obvious you will do that,’’ he added. With Vettel announcing his departure from Red Bull, it is increasingly likely that the four time world champion will replace Alonso at Ferrari with the Spaniard tying a knot with McLaren despite their tumultuous 2007 season.
