British GP: Raikkonen, Hamilton and Bottas called into the steward's office

After a rain hit 1st Practice session, FP2 was much better and gave the drivers enough time to test out the upgrades. After the practice session was done with, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas were called to the Stewards office for breaching the regulations.

Kimi Raikkonen was called for coming out of his pit box in an unsafe manner. Although the Finn wasn’t fined, the Enstone based Lotus team were reprimanded for this offence.

Home hero Hamilton was reprimanded for not staying to the right of the bollard at the pit entry, the Steward’s statement read that the Mercedes driver was reprimanded for “not staying to the right of the bollard at the pit entry as defined in the race director’s notes to team managers. However, as no other cars were in the vicinity the offence is not regarded as too dangerous and it did not impede another competitior.”

New rules state that if a driver is reprimanded thrice in a season, he will receive a ten place grid penalty for the next race.

Another Finn, Williams driver Valterri Bottas was called for over speeding in the pitlane by 9.8 km/h. With the new agreement between the FIA and the GPDA, the fine for speeding in the pitlane will be paid by the teams instead of the drivers. The team was asked to pay a fine of a 1,000 euros.
