Daniel Ricciardo feels that he is following up his Red Bull signing in a good manner after a strong showing at the Italian Grand Prix.
“I am pleased with that. After qualifying well it was nice to maintain that position at the end of race,” Ricciardo said after the race.
“In recent races where we have managed to qualify in the top ten, we didn’t have the pace to stay there in the race, but today we did. I think I got the most out of the car, managing to keep the guys behind me and the low down force set-up certainly helped us down the straights,” he added.
Ricciardo also expressed his desire and hope to finish in the top five in near future.
“We must keep pushing hard on the car development for the next few races, because hopefully, a top five finish is not too far away,” he said.
Ricciardo was confirmed to replace Mark Webber for next season on Monday and bought his Toro Rosso home in seventh place on Sunday thus earning six points.
