Daniel Ricciardo, who reportedly is among the front runners for the Red Bull seat, has said that being considered for the opportunity by Red Bull has inspired him to do even better.
Ricciardo currently drives for Red Bull’s sister team Toro Rosso. He was called up by Red Bull to run a test at Silverstone and he managed to impress the Red Bull think tank.
The Australian has said that he is enjoying the recognition he is getting although he hates the media attention, as reported by Autosport.
“I don’t not like it. I’m not saying I like all the extra media and all that, but behind the scenes, the odd phone call here and there telling me that this weekend is important, is good fun,” Ricciardo said about the media attention he’s receiving of late.
When quizzed whether he there’s any pressure on him to perform better, he replied: “It is really a time in my young career that I need to start impressing some people. So there is a bit of extra pressure, but motivation as well.”
