Kubica impressing Mercedes in tests

Robert Kubica is continuously working on his come-back to Formula 1.

Robert Kubica is continuously working on his come-back to Formula 1.

Mercedes executive director, Toto Wolff, is impressed with Robert Kubica and reckons that it benefits both parties with him testing the simulators in Brackley, England.

The ex-Renault man endured a terrible crash in a local rally in February 2011, smashing his hand in the incident. The injury has kept him out of Formula 1 till date.

However, Wolff, who admitted Kubica was using the Merc’s simulators, says that the whole exercise helps Mercedes in their continuous development of the car and helps Kubica get closer to his comeback in to the sport.

Robert is concentrating on rallying, that is his main task,” Wolff told Autosport. “But everybody knows he is very talented and experienced.

What we are trying to do with him is give him time in the simulator and you both gain by having him in the simulator.

He is getting used to driving the F1 car again and we are benefiting from his expertise. It helps the team and it helps him.
