Volkswagen-linked car-makers Porsche has denied rumors that suggested that they are gearing up to enter the Formula One.

Porsche, last year signed Mark Webber and Formula One’s technical personals including Fritz Enzinger, Alex Hitzinger, Mike Krack and Urs Kuratle for their sports car programme and ignited wide spread rumors about a possible return to the sport.

But the latest speculations has been aided by the latest edition of their employee magazine which said the company contacted former engine developer Hans Mezger after it was confirmed that the Formula One will be entering a new turbo era in 2014.

Porsche spokesman rubbished the rumors and said that the team was fully committed to its 2014 Le Mans project.

“There are no plans to enter formula one,” the spokesman said.
