Michael Schumacher has been making steady progress since his last year's ski crash, but faces a 'long and hard fight' for recovery, according to his manager Sabine Kehm. The seven time F1 world champion was put in induced coma in a hospital in Grenoble before being sent home in Switzerland for rehabilitation in September.

"We need a long time. It's going to be a long time and a hard fight," Sabine Kehm told Reuters. "He is making progress appropriate to the severity of the situation," she added, reiterating a statement she made a month ago.Kehm also dismissed a claim made by former F1 driver Philippe Streiff who insisted that Schumacher is able to recognize people that are closing to him, including his wife and kids."I cannot confirm that," she said. "I can only confirm that I do not know where Mr. Streiff has his information from because he has no contact with us and he never has."
