Grave period
Sergio Perez believes that Formula 1 is going through a grave period and that Formula 1 needs the mid-field teams in the sport. When asked about, his team Sahara Force India and the other mid-field team’s future, amidst all the uncertainties in Formula 1, he said, “Yeah, yeah of course, you see a lot in the media, Formula 1 is going through a grave period specially this side of the grid, small team struggling to keep up, and so hopefully the sport can do something to help us and the team to survive, because Formula 1 needs these teams to stay.”
Further on, he didn’t go into the details of what concept mistakes the team had taken after mid-season but insisted that, they have found out the problem and the solutions and that they understand the car better now.
Future still unclear
He is not too fussed about Max Verstappen’s early entry to Formula 1 and he believes that the sport hasn’t become easy to get into. According to him, age is just a number and if Max is good enough then he deserves to drive in Formula 1. But he warned the Dutch driver that, he will have a tough fight in hand, driving against some of the best drivers in the world. He rounded off stating that, he had a good year driving against Nico Hulkenberg and that he would love to be teammates again next year; giving no confirmation that he is staying in Sahara Force India for 2015
