Singapore Grand Prix: Vettel looking for hat-trick

Vettel celebrating his Singapore GP victory

Three time World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, will be going to Singapore next weekend not just close in on his 4th Championship, but also to score his third consecutive victory at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

The German told the Finnish paper Turun Sanomat: ” 2011 and 2012 are, of course, the best memories in the race, when it is in my opinion one of the toughest races. Winning offers an amazing moment, and then they really feel they deserve champagne. The race is long – it lasts for a full two hours – and the race never seems to end. Track itself is the real killer, because it is so bumpy, and the error no space. “

Talking about the late 8 PM start time, Vettel told us about his routine during the race weekend. He says: “When the race starts at 20.00 in the evening, it is better to keep a familiar rhythm. I wake up there at two in the afternoon to eat some breakfast, when, at that time it is eight is the morning in Switzerland. It seems a little strange to eat lunch in the evening and go to bed early hours. But when I have been doing it for many years, it seems pretty normal in Singapore”

Vettel’s nearest championship rival, Fernando Alonso too has won the night race twice. He too will be looking for his third victory at the circuit.

Vettel leads the Championship by 53 points, which is a really big lead considering the fact that only 7 races remain this season.
