If Mercedes can't win every race this season, surely they can take pole at all of them? Right? Wrong.
The Williams of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas spoilt Mercedes's party yesterday in Austria after sealing their first front row lockout since 2003. Mercedes, meanwhile, ran into trouble with Lewis Hamilton spinning under pressure, and in the process, inadvertently hurting Rosberg's best shot at pole position.
But with Mercedes still having the fastest car in race trim and Williams likely to have higher tyre degradation than rest of the field, an exciting race awaits us.
