The 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix turned out to be a cracker of a race and it would certainly go down as one of the best in recent memory. It’s a matter of coincide (is it really though?) that it was 10th anniversary for Formula 1 racing in Bahrain and the sport’s 900th Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton came out on top in a close fight with Nico Rosberg, fending off the German who was on faster option tyres during the tail end of the race. Sergio Perez took third to secure Force India’s second ever podium – a result not likely to be given heed by Indian media after their cricket team lost out on the T20 World Cup to Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile. Pastor Maldonado grabbed a lot of attention for his incident with Sauber’s Esteban Gutierrez as he hit the Sauber on turn 1 after exiting the pits, forcing the Mexican to do a 360-degree side spin before landing on the track.
